为媒体界语言使用设定标准的《美联社写作风格书》（Associated Press Stylebook）本周宣布取消“情妇（mistress）”一词，引发巨大争议。

美联社指出，“不要将‘情妇’一词用于形容与已婚男子有长期性关系并在经济上得到支持的妇女。取而代之的是，第一次提到可使用伴侣（companion）、朋友（friend）或情人（lover）之类的词语并附加详细信息。”

美联社后来表示，该指导方针是去年首次发布的，“我们觉得只有针对女性的词语，而没有针对男性的词语，该词语暗示着女性应对此事全权负责。”

美联社的公告引发巨大争议，针对应该使用何种词语替代情妇一词时，民众更是脑洞大开。民众的建议包括“配件”（Side piece）、“家庭破坏者”（homewrecker），“通奸者（fornicator），“糖宝”（Sugar Baby）属于性别中立。

福克斯新闻记者Joe Concha表示“已婚男子的同谋（married man’s co-conspirator）”很合适。

NPR记者Susan Davis发推表示：“他的妻子可能有一堆词来形容她。”

还有民众表示，与其为了情妇而淡化爱情和友情的词汇，不如为男性设计一个等同意义的词语。

近年来，《美联社写作风格书》不断变化以适应当前的趋势。去年11月，《美联社写作风格书》删除了多个代表“疯狂”的术语，包括 ‘insane,’ ‘crazy’, ‘nuts,’ and‘deranged’ ，除非作为引用使用。美联社说“避免使用心理健康术语描述无关的问题。

7月，美联社表示在提及有色人种时，要将黑色（black）中的字母b大写。但是白人的white，仍保持小写。

A friend had divorced her husband. She had discovered, while pregnant with their first child, that he was having an affair. One month after she gave birth, he moved out. 1988年9月，当周扬青出生北京的时候，肯定想不到20年后，自己会和台湾来的一个歌手，扯上关系，结果还惹了一身骚。

周扬青的父亲很有钱，对周扬青也很娇惯，基本上就是那种想要星星不敢给月亮，想要吃土不敢给大虾的任性。

直接在2020年4月23日那天，对全网发出一封“讨伐令”，大曝罗志祥的“永动机”，“时间管理”，劈腿、喜欢多人运动与旗下艺人恺乐有不正当男女关系……

一夜之间，罗志祥名誉扫地，人人喊打。演艺事业全面停摆，至今都无法翻身。
