Boza is one of the oldest Turkish drinks, and it’s a fermented beverage made from grains such as millet, barley, wheat, or corn. Consumed more in winter as it is a densely structured drink and has a sour taste. Served with cinnamon and roasted chickpeas on top.

It offers rich nutrients as well as possible health benefits due to being rich in probiotics and lactic acid.

3. Şalgam Suyu (fermented turnip juice) 发酵胡萝卜汁

It is prepared using turnip or purple carrots, bulgur wheat, salt, and yeast. It usually has two different versions; mild and spicy hot.

4. Salep 兰花汁

Often consumed with cinnamon, especially in winter, is a hot and intense drink made of powdered orchid roots, milk, and sugar . Grinding the tubers of the wild orchids on the ground (orchid roots are also called salep) into powder.

Orchid roots are rich in starch, and when mixed with milk, turns into a thick, custardy-like texture. Salep powder is also the key ingredient in Turkish ice cream, as it makes for a dense and chewy treat.

What is Caviar? 何为鱼子酱

Caviar is a food consisting of salt-cured roe of the family Acipenseridae. Caviar is considered a delicacy and is eaten as a garnish or a spread. Traditionally, the term caviar refers only to eggs and roes from wild sturgeon in the Caspian Sea and Black Sea. Depending on the country, caviar may also be used to describe the roe of other species of sturgeon or other fish such as salmon, steelhead, trout, lumpfish, whitefish, or carp.

Caviar, which is deemed to be the pinnacle of luxury by many, has been a dining delicacy since the times of ancient Greece. Derived from the Persian word chav-jar, which means “cake of strength,” this black gold was integrated into modern-day popularity by Russian royalty.

Types of Caviar 类型

There are three main varieties of sturgeon caviar, each varying in price, taste, and quality. Caviar is also graded based on the size, texture, and flavor of the eggs.

Grade 1: Firm, large eggs uniform eggs (more expensive).

Grade 2: Less delicate and less uniform eggs (less expensive)

Beluga 白鲸鱼子酱

The rarest and most expensive caviar is noted for its large light-gray pea-sized pearls with a buttery, creamy, nutty flavor and unique full-flavored after taste. Due to the decline in the wild Beluga population, this caviar is closely regulated which has resulted in its high price and rarity.

Ossetra 奥塞特拉鱼子酱

The most popular caviar in the world, known for its rich, nutty, briny flavor and firm, juicy, deep brown to gold pearls. While still expensive, it is the most affordable high-end caviars on the market.

Sevruga 塞夫鲁加鱼子酱

The most common and affordable caviar varietals, it is said to have the most intense and rich flavor. With small, clear pearls with pale-grey juicy insides that have a smooth, buttery flavor with a fresh, clean finish.

Although peanuts were found native in South America，they are now grown in almost every country that has warm weather．India produces the most peanuts．China's production is next，followed by the United States．

The peanut is special in more ways than one．It can be eaten raw，boiled，roasted，or fried．Hundreds of widely different products have been made from it．Carver，an American scientist，set himself the task of discovering new uses for eating and for many other products．

Peanuts are very highly nutritious and are also high in protein．Americans use about seven-tenths of their protein in the form of meat．In India，where the poor can't pay for meat or milk，peanut meal and peanut milk have been produced．These have been a great help to the poor．

New products are continually being made from peanuts，among them peanut cheese and a powder that becomes peanut butter when water is added．

Mankind is wasting things everywhere and everyday . Wherever we go , we can see that food is wasted just because of poor taste ; clothes are thrown away simply due to their old fashion . Trees are cut down merely for fuel ; wild animals are killed simply for meat and fur ; oil and coal are exploited (开采) in a bad way .

The worst example of man’s waste is the waste of time . Many people tend to spend their time on worthless things , such as wandering about in the street , gossiping in the office , sleeping too much during the day .

It is time to call for an end to the waste . On one hand , we must save on natural resources and make full use of them . On the other hand , we must value time .
